Group Guitar Lessons for Teens Part 1

Service Description

When: Tuesdays 5:00-5:45 8 Week Cycle (January 9th , 16th, 23rd, & 30th) (February 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th) or Thursdays 5:00-5:45 8 Week Cycle (January 11th, 18th, 25th) (February 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th) This 8-week class cycle is Part 1 of 4. Students learn how to care for and maintain their guitar, how to care for their bodies as a musician, how to tune their guitar by an electronic tuner, by piano, and by ear, how to hold their guitar, proper seating and standing posture when playing, how to strum and use a guitar pick, how to locate frets on a guitar and the note names of strings, how to read a chord chart and locate that chord on their guitar, how to form chords with their fingers, how to play with a clear sound, learning rhythm for keeping time, learning major guitar chords and to play 3 songs. Students will share a song they have always wanted to learn for a solo performance for their class by the end of their 4th 8-week cycle, Group Guitar Part 4.
